Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a challenge?

Just go to the List a Challenge page and fill in the form. Your challenge will then appear on our ‘Find a Challenge’ page ready for adventurers to discover and get in touch with you.

How do I edit my own listed challenges?

Just send a clear summary of the changes you require through the contact box above and we’ll make the changes for you and let you know when we’ve done it.

How do I find a challenge?

Use the Find a Challenge page to see all of the challenges listed on the website or alternatively you can search for challenges that match your specific criteria. You can use the ‘Keyword Search’ or select a country from our ‘Quick Select’ option and if you would like to narrow the results down even further you can use the advanced search option.

Why should I add a photo when listing my challenge?

Adding a photo of you in action doing something sporty, your own smiley face or the amazing scenery where your challenge is taking place is likely to attract the interest of more Chums if they can see who they’re going to be doing the challenge with or the amazing views they’re going to be seeing whilst taking part.

What should I do if I forget to upload a photo to my challenge?

Just send us the name of your challenge and the picture you would like added and we will upload it onto your challenge no problem at all.

Do you have any safety tips when arranging a challenge with someone I have never met?

Yes we certainly do! Please ensure that you meet up in a public place before you venture out on a challenge with anyone you have never met before, coffee shops are ideal and you can always bring a friend along too for your first meeting for a bit of moral support. Not only do you want to make sure the person is who they say they are but you also want to ensure you’ll feel comfortable and safe embarking on a challenge with them and that your personalities won’t clash too much along the way! Please remember that your safety is your own responsibility so have it at the forefront of your mind at all times, use your gut instinct and do everything you can to keep yourself safe. If you meet up and don’t click just remember you can keep your challenge up on the website for as long as you like until you find the perfect Chum to join you.

How do I get involved with a challenge?

Just click on the challenge you are interested in and submit a comment in the comment box below the challenge and this will be emailed directly to the challenge organiser. This gives the organiser the opportunity to make contact with you privately and give you more information on their challenge.

How old do I have to be to use Challenge Chum?

You have to be 18 years old or over to use the Challenge Chum website, please refer to the website Terms & Conditions for more information on this.

Why is Challenge Chum only UK based challenges?

Challenge Chum has decided to focus on solely UK based challenges for the time being as we have found that it is much easier for people to meet up and head out on adventures together if they are living in the same country or region. We look forward to seeing all of your UK based adventures and challenges uploaded onto the site!

What can I do to generate more interest in my challenge and find chums to join me?

The best way to generate more interest in your challenge is to promote, post and share the link to your individual challenge across your social media networks and ask your friends and family to share it too. The more people that see your challenge, the more interest you’re likely to generate. It is also a good idea to upload a photo of yourself onto your challenge so that people can see who they’ll be joining if they get involved. If you forget to upload a photo of yourself onto your original challenge post just paste a photo alongside the name of your challenge in the contact us box and our website admin team will upload this photo onto your challenge no problem at all.

Can I promote my listed challenge on social media?

Of course you can and we would encourage you do so by posting a link to your challenge on your social media sites and asking your friends and families to share your challenge link too. The more people who see your challenge, the more potential chums you’re likely to attract.
